Van Cleef & Arpels is launching the fourth edition of its de Mains en mains program, designed to introduce young people and career changers to the jewellery professions. Partnering with the French Ministry of National Education, the initiative includes mentorship, public events, and hands-on workshops aimed at preserving and sharing France’s rich jewellery-making tradition.

This year, the program runs in Lyon from November 23 to December 1, 2024, at the InterContinental Lyon – Hotel Dieu and expands to Clermont-Ferrand for the first time from February 12 to 16, 2025, at the Comédie de Clermont-Ferrand. Attendees can observe expert demonstrations in a workshop-like setting and explore training and career opportunities in the field.

The mentorship program involves middle and high school students, with experts from Van Cleef & Arpels and L’ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts, conducting in-class presentations. These sessions integrate jewellery professions with school subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, History, and Fine Arts. Students also participate in Parcours Métiers, a week-long experience where artisans guide them through jewellery design, stone selection, and other key stages of creation.

To enhance communication skills, students receive coaching in public speaking through the Atelier de la langue française. They conclude the program by presenting their experiences to families, teachers, and Van Cleef & Arpels representatives in May.

Since its launch in 2021, de Mains en mains has expanded its reach, inspiring younger generations while supporting adults transitioning into the jewellery industry. The program highlights Van Cleef & Arpels’ dedication to preserving craftsmanship and fostering new talent.
