The Peninsula London recently partnered with McLaren Automotive and renowned artist Yinka Ilori MBE for a vibrant live art event, blending art, cars, and philanthropy. During the Frieze London 2024 weekend on October 14 and 15, Ilori transformed a McLaren Artura into a striking, unique work of art at The Peninsula’s courtyard. The painted bonnet will be auctioned, with proceeds going to Make-A-Wish UK to fund life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

Following the painting, the Artura will be displayed at The Peninsula London for two weeks before starting a three-month UK tour of McLaren showrooms, culminating in the bonnet auction for Make-A-Wish UK. This event supports the Art of Wishes initiative, founded by Batia Ofer, which has raised over £12 million since 2017 to bring joy to critically ill children.

The Peninsula London’s commitment to supporting the arts, including through its ‘Artist in Residence’ program, and McLaren’s heritage in automotive design make this collaboration a perfect blend of creativity and engineering. “Frieze London gave us a unique chance to bring excitement and artistry to our community,” said Rolf Buehlmann, Managing Director of The Peninsula London.
