Tate McRae drew a massive crowd to the Kia Forum parking lot Thursday night for an interactive release event celebrating her new album, So Close to What. The event featured photo ops, outfit displays, food trucks, and sponsor booths from American Express, Adidas, and Neutrogena, while fans, many dressed in McRae-inspired outfits, secured $8 tickets via Ticketmaster, with all proceeds benefiting FireAid for L.A. wildfire relief. The event was also streamed on TikTok for those unable to attend in person.

McRae hit the stage at 9 p.m. as her album dropped, opening with “Sports Car” and “It’s OK I’m OK,” as towering cranes lit the venue. “Guys, what the fuck is up?” she shouted, hyping up the crowd before debuting new tracks, including “Revolving Door,” which premiered with a music video that night. She described the album’s theme as falling in love again, seemingly referencing her relationship with The Kid LAROI, whom she celebrated on Instagram with “#proud and #boyfriend.”

The setlist included “Dear God,” “bloodonmyhands,” “Greenlight,” “You Broke Me First,” and “2 hands,” before closing with her hit single “Greedy.” McRae is gearing up for her sold-out “Miss Possessive” tour, starting March 18 in Mexico City, with stops in São Paulo, London, Amsterdam, Prague, and New York before wrapping up at the Kia Forum in November.
