Milan is a city of contrasts, where creativity and sophistication intersect with modernity and tradition. This duality serves as the inspiration behind Pomellato’s latest high jewellery collection, The Dualism of Milan. As a brand rooted in Milan since 1967, Pomellato pays homage to the city’s spirit through a collection that captures both its understated elegance and its vibrant energy.

Unveiled in June at the historic Museo della Permanente, the collection features 51 handcrafted masterpieces, divided into two themes: Milan’s Monochromatic Treasures and Milanese Colour Prism. The first reflects the city’s linear, structured side, drawing inspiration from landmarks like the Planetario di Milano. This influence is evident in the Planetario set, where dark Tahitian pearls and sapphires mimic the night sky. The Asimmetrico choker, inspired by César Pelli’s UniCredit Tower, showcases Pomellato’s mastery of metalwork, with articulated rose gold plates that move fluidly against the skin.

In contrast, Milanese Colour Prism embraces the city’s bold, artistic energy. Vibrant gemstones like fuchsia spinels, electric blue tanzanites, and green tourmalines create dynamic compositions. The Barocco necklace, a kaleidoscope of aquamarines, rubellites, and garnets, highlights Pomellato’s signature baroque cut, where stones retain their natural, irregular forms. Meanwhile, the Spinelli di Fuoco necklace, set with 238 spinel cabochons in fiery hues, drapes like fabric around the neck, a testament to the brand’s craftsmanship.
