Pomellato and Milan’s Galdus Goldsmith Academy unveiled their new laboratories at the Valore Italia Campus in the Milano Innovation District (MIND) on Monday. The Pomellato Virtuosi Academy, launched in 2018 by the Kering-owned jeweler, is set to double its courses and student capacity from 70 to 140, with the number of graduates rising from 20 to 40 annually.

The Italian jewelry sector saw a 10.2% revenue increase in 2023, highlighting the significance of Lombardy as a key hub for production. Among the Academy’s new offerings is an ITS course focused on digital technologies and advanced techniques, complementing traditional goldsmith methods like embossing and engraving.

Pomellato’s creative team will also participate in teaching specialized goldsmithing techniques, blending artisan mastery with industrial production processes. These courses aim to shape versatile goldsmiths capable of managing multiple parts of the production process.
