OpenAI has secured $6.6 billion in funding, valuing the artificial intelligence company at $157 billion. This round, led by Joshua Kushner’s Thrive Capital, included investments from Microsoft, Nvidia, SoftBank, and Fidelity. The funding will be used to enhance OpenAI’s AI research leadership, expand computing capabilities, and develop more advanced tools for problem-solving.

OpenAI’s groundbreaking products, such as ChatGPT and Dall-E, have revolutionized generative AI. The company is also moving into AI-generated video with its new Sora product. Recently, OpenAI struck deals with publishers like Time, Condé Nast, and News Corp., as well as a partnership with Apple to integrate ChatGPT with Siri.

However, OpenAI faces legal challenges, with lawsuits from authors alleging that the company used training data without proper consent, raising concerns about intellectual property rights.
