Omega has introduced a visually stunning update to its Speedmaster Moonphase, now featuring a meteorite dial and lunar meteorite cabochons representing the moon phases for both hemispheres. Housed in a sleek 43mm by 13.6mm stainless steel case, the watch incorporates the in-house manually-wound Caliber 9914 movement, offering a 60-hour power reserve and a tapered bracelet with a tool-free micro-adjust system.
The meteorite dials come in two striking options: a silver dial with blue accents, white gold hands, and indices, and a black PVD-coated dial with polished white gold hands and indices. Both versions boast a ceramic bezel and a display caseback showcasing the METAS-certified Master Chronometer caliber. The moon phase subdial reflects the starry sky as it appeared on July 21, 1969, during the moon landing, adding a celestial connection to the watch’s theme.
Available now for $17,100, the Speedmaster Moonphase Meteorite represents a bold evolution from previous iterations like the 2010 Apollo Soyuz or the 2016 Speedmaster Moonphase. While some may find the price steep compared to earlier models, the intricate details and exceptional craftsmanship position this release as a standout for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
