Dr. Nicole Martin, famously recognized as one of the original cast members of The Real Housewives of Miami, and her companion, insurance lawyer Anthony Lopez, just closed one of the largest residential purchases of the year in Coral Gables. The couple purchased a vast, waterfront estate for $34 million in the luxurious Gables Estates, recognized as one of the top locations for waterfront multi-million-dollar properties, and the best news, this guard-gated condominium complex has only 14 houses. They could be in even better company as their new home is located just off Biscayne Bay, along one of the most exclusive waterfront stretches in all of South Florida.
The estate has a roughly 225-foot direct bay front, with gorgeous views day and night, boat-ready dockage, and major privacy by all standards, reflective of its price. The property was gracefully handled on the sellers’ side by Dennis Carvajal and Maria Marin-Sanchez with ONE Sotheby’s International Realty, while Carvajal, who represented Lopez and Martin, handled the buyers’ side of the transaction.
The house was built in 2004, and previously owned by NBA Hall of Famer Alonzo Mourning who purchased it following his return to Miami Heat after a brief tenure with the New Jersey Nets (the home has history as a compound for two longer-term owners, with limited occupancy what’s more the house is custom and uniquely created.)
Inside the waterfront mansion for $34 million

The inside of this home is commensurate with the quality of the purchase, including an extensive chef’s kitchen featuring custom cabinets and world-class appliances. Perfect for oenophiles, the estate boasts a temperature-controlled wine cellar that can hold more than 2,700 bottles of top-tier wine.
The couple also features ample work space with two home offices; one gym; a game/media lounge resembling a private club.
There is further indication this house was not only designed for luxury features; it has an elevator, a four-car garage, impact-rated windows and doors, and a whole house generator, must-have essentials living in hurricane territory of Southern Florida.
The outdoor living spaces are just as stunning and include large terraces (also great for gathering and dining experiences), a summer kitchen, and a resort-style pool just steps away from you arrive to the bay, where keyed, or direct bay access allows for a private dock and private lift for boat access.
This purchase occurs on the heels of Lopez and Martin, making positive noise in the news with their various collateral real estate projects, just weeks prior the couple sold off Old Cutler Bay for $40 million (off-market) to British pop singer Robbie Williams, drawing attention to the fact that they helped him relocate his family from LA to South Florida. They purchased that home in 2022, for $21.5 million, and after they completely renovated it, performed a publicity fueled flip.
In 2022, they also were involved in a sale of $44 million to Jeff Bezos’ mother, Jacklyn Bezos that would further solidify their footprint in the ultra-luxury market of Miami real estate.
With this new purchase in Gables Estates, Martin and Lopez find themselves in a home that synergizes their two, and the buyers’ real estate aspirations, while continuing their legacy of multi-million dollar purchases and deals moving forward, while further cementing their standing being significant players in southern Florida’s high-end property scene.
