Starting October 1, 2024, Maria Conti will take over as Head of Maserati Corse, reporting directly to Davide Grasso (CEO of Maserati) and functionally to Jean-Marc Finot (Senior VP of Stellantis Motorsport). Conti succeeds Giovanni Sgro after his two-year tenure, which included overseeing Maserati’s participation in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship and the Fanatec GT2 European Series. He also led the launch of the Maserati MCXtrema track-only car.

With over 20 years of experience in communications, Conti has worked with international automotive and luxury brands. Previously serving as Chief Communication Officer at Maserati, she is now the first woman to lead Maserati’s motorsport division, following her return from maternity leave.

In his statement, Grasso expressed gratitude to Sgro for his dedication to Maserati’s motorsport success and welcomed Conti’s leadership. “I am particularly proud that at this moment there is a woman leading the on-track activities for our brand, bringing her expertise, energy, and enthusiasm,” Grasso said.
