Louis Vuitton has announced the launch of the second edition of its prestigious Watch Prize for Independent Creatives, organized by its Swiss-based watch manufacture, La Fabrique du Temps. This biennial award celebrates innovation, craftsmanship, and creativity in watchmaking, inviting independent watchmakers and entrepreneurs worldwide to participate.

The first edition in 2024 saw over 1,000 entries from 15 countries, with Swiss watchmaker Raúl Pagès winning for his RP1 – Régulateur à Détente timepiece. Jean Arnault, Louis Vuitton Watch Director, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting exceptional talents who push the boundaries of horological artistry.

Applicants must submit projects by April 15, 2025, after which a committee will shortlist 20 semi-finalists in July. By November, five finalists will be selected based on criteria such as creativity, technical innovation, and craftsmanship. The final judging will take place in February 2026, culminating in the winner’s announcement at a private reception.

The winner will receive a €150,000 grant and a year-long mentorship with Master Watchmakers Michel Navas and Enrico Barbasini. The mentorship will include tailored support in areas like marketing, legal frameworks, and financial strategy to help refine and grow their creative project.
