Loewe and Kyoto’s Suna Fujita Create Whimsical Holiday Collection

Loewe’s latest holiday collection features a collaboration with Kyoto-based ceramicists Suna Fujita, known for their whimsical designs. This second partnership with the Spanish luxury brand transforms Suna Fujita’s signature creations—such as space rabbits and deep-sea octopuses—into intricate accessories, including a submarine-shaped bag with a chimney clasp.

The collaboration began unexpectedly when Loewe Creative Director Jonathan Anderson contacted the artists via Facebook. Initially drawn to their ceramic works, Anderson pushed the duo, Shohei Fujita and Chisato Yamano, to explore themes of space and the ocean for this collection. The pair delved into research, creating digital and hand-drawn designs that were then brought to life through Loewe’s meticulous embroidery and leatherwork.

This unique alliance blends the imaginative universe of Suna Fujita with Loewe’s signature craftsmanship, creating a collection that celebrates creativity and detail.
