In a world where social media has become a fertile ground for deception and unethical practices, BallerBusters emerges as a beacon of truth and justice. Dedicated to exposing notorious scam artists who prey on vulnerable individuals, BallerBusters fights against deceitful marketing techniques used to flaunt lifestyles that these fraudsters do not actually live. The organization labels these scam artists with fitting monikers like “Chief Clown Officers” and “Flex Offenders,” underscoring their mission with a blend of humor and seriousness.

Social media platforms have seen countless people worldwide fall victim to so-called gurus, losing not only money but also trust in the digital space. BallerBusters aims to counter this by raising awareness and building an educational platform that offers genuine learning opportunities, free from the false promises and financial pitfalls set by these scammers.

Fraudsters are a bunch of clowns

America’s Gone Viral got a chance to see what’s going on in the world of Baller Busters: Check out what they had to say below.

America’s Gone Viral: How did Baller Busters come about? Did you get scammed yourself in some way that made you go down the road of busting scammers, or is there another story behind it?

Baller Busters: Not scammed in particular (well, admin #2 got scammed on eBay when buying AirPods LOL but that doesn’t really count). Some of us move in circles of marketing and just constantly stumble across these clowns. It’s unbelievable and unbearable. Especially in 2020 during Covid, the god damn circus was on a roll with Covid scams. Jesus Christ. So many PPP loans from Lamborghini e-comm self-made kids ended up in federal courts, fined, prosecuted, and jailed. Don’t say we didn’t warn ya! 😉

America’s Gone Viral: How many people have you “busted” on social media so far for being frauds and taking people’s hard-earned money?

Baller Busters: We believe the number is now around 129. Doesn’t sound much, but it’s honestly a lot of work. The number of submissions? Tens of thousands. I mean, we receive hundreds of DMs daily. It’s a circus.

America’s Gone Viral: Out of all the people you’ve “busted” so far, how many came after you for doing so? What kind of things have they tried to shut you down?

Baller Busters: LOL. A lot of them come after us. They try to hire people to take our social media channels down, they threaten with defamation lawsuits, they try to hack our platforms—it’s endless and we are so used to it. Death threats, you name it. But ultimately, we don’t bend over. Can’t sue the truth, or as one of our attorneys would say: “truth is the best defense to defamation.” We won’t name who specifically came after us because they don’t deserve a mention in this prestigious publication. So far, no lawsuits or physical danger yet. No one died. We are still alive and kicking.

America’s Gone Viral: How do you 100% get all of your facts correct before outing a scammer on social media?

Baller Busters: Talking to the victims. Asking the questions. Trying to locate more victims. Reviewing all the evidence (contracts, electronic correspondence, bank statements, etc.). Sometimes we even go undercover. Whatever it takes. The process is sometimes just as complicated as the one police officers go through when filing a report. We like to extend the ‘benefit of the doubt’ to the point where whoever gets exposed has ‘barely any chance’ of winning a defamation case (in the event of discovery), as we present factual elements with the truth. We have no desire to tarnish good names and ruin reputations—that’s not what we are in the business of. We are in the business of justice and journalism. A bit of both. All we care about is the truth, even when it’s not pretty. And even when it’s about your fav guru.

America’s Gone Viral: Have you ever been wrong about someone you busted (given wrong information) then went back and retracted your “bust”?

Baller Busters: No. But we had a few people die (one was an accidental overdose, the other one suicide, one was murdered, etc.), and that’s where we decide to archive the busts and all the “dirt” because there is nothing we can do to help the victims at that point (besides announcing the news of the deceased). Let the family mourn in peace, you know? There should always remain some level of humanity on this page. Even when one of the famous fitness scammers, Wes Watson, got swatted and the video went viral (he was treated pretty aggressively by the Marshalls), we refused to post anything about it. We simply do not condone illegal activities, swatting included. It’s dangerous, a huge waste of public resources, and selfish. We want no part of it. If our team loses the decency and moral compass, then what else is left? We have to set an example of some sort.

America’s Gone Viral: How often would you say Baller Busters gets tagged or sent people via DM who’ve scammed someone, with the person that sent them to you wanting to “bust” them?

Baller Busters: All day, every day. It’s so often we had to limit our DM settings to eliminate the traffic. It’s hard to keep up with all the submissions, and obviously, we can’t pursue every single story/request. We take notes and focus on stories with the highest number of victims, evidence, SEC/police/FBI reports, etc.

America’s Gone Viral: What is the future for Baller Busters in the business of calling out frauds and scammers?

Baller Busters: We just partnered with a couple of third-party merch companies, in the process of a merch store launch, so that’s exciting. A couple of collaborations are in the works, but overall we aim to continue at the same pace, just spread awareness and hope that people pay attention and don’t fall for the scams. And also to educate the kids that not being rich at the age of 18 isn’t the end of the world. Humility and hard work need to come back in fashion.

America’s Gone Viral: Has Baller Busters ever been offered a position or role in a company in which they’ve wanted to hire you to find out info on scammers full-time? If not, what kind of opportunities have come from creating the page?

Fraudsters are a bunch of clowns

Baller Busters: No, that’s what PIs are for. We don’t have time for anything like that. And we wouldn’t want the liability of formally pursuing this type of niche. If we find the bust interesting enough, we usually pursue it pro bono anyway. If the victims require legal help, we connect them with a network of attorneys willing to help, etc. As far as opportunities go—we have so far declined all sponsorship and partnership offers. We had quite a few, some were into six figures… wasn’t the right match or story… so far this brand still isn’t monetized; everything we do is pro bono, and those who want to support can purchase our merch if they choose to do so. We don’t believe sponsored posts will ever become a thing on this page. This page was built on integrity; we definitely don’t want to collapse that over some lousy ads and a quick buck. We do have a docu-series in the making too—taking time to do it right. But it will be at some point.

BallerBusters is on the verge of exposing yet another fraudster, this time targeting a notorious lawyer based in Arizona. This case serves as a prime example of the type of individuals BallerBusters is committed to bringing to justice. Valley personal injury lawyer Gil Negrete has not been disbarred yet. Why? Here’s a look into who he is and what needs to be done to protect the public from him.

Negrete, based in Arizona, has a long list of bar complaints and a history of fraudulent and violent behavior. His license is currently suspended, preventing him from practicing law, but the goal of his victims and advocates like BallerBusters is to see him completely disbarred and held accountable for his crimes.

Negrete’s transgressions are numerous and severe. His first bar complaint involved a felony charge for money laundering for known drug trafficker Brian Escobedo, which he concealed from the bar. The second complaint arose from an incident where Negrete threatened and extorted a chiropractor for $1200, and then fabricated evidence during the Arizona Bar investigation, resulting in a one-year disbarment. Despite this, Negrete continued his unethical practices. During his suspension, he improperly sold and transferred confidential patient files without client consent, leading to the third complaint. The fourth complaint is a series of violations, including asking a process server to lie under oath and submitting false evidence to court, which only resulted in an additional three-month suspension.

Beyond his professional misconduct, Negrete’s personal behavior is equally reprehensible. He has been convicted and fined for money laundering, has a history of fraud and domestic violence, and has assaulted a young woman he made promises to. Victims of Negrete’s actions are now stepping forward, submitting evidence to BallerBusters, making reports, pressing charges, and filing lawsuits against him.

BallerBusters, an organization dedicated to exposing scam artists and raising awareness about fraudulent activities, is actively working on bringing Negrete to justice. They aim to prevent more people from falling victim to his schemes by making the public aware of his crimes and ensuring he is held accountable. With the support of the community and the courage of his victims, BallerBusters is determined to see Negrete disbarred and his unethical practices brought to an end.

This case highlights the urgent need for vigilance and action against individuals who exploit their positions of power for personal gain. BallerBusters’ mission to educate and protect the public is more crucial than ever, as they work to expose and eliminate such threats from our society.
