In 2014, childhood friends Cathrine Saks and Barbara Potts transformed the Danish fashion scene with their bold and textured coats, breaking away from the minimalist aesthetic of the time. Now, a decade later, their label, Saks Potts, has announced its closure, with operations set to end in Spring 2025.

The announcement, shared on Instagram, emphasized the brand’s achievements, including consistent 25% annual growth and financial success in what is projected to be its strongest year yet. “We’ve always aimed to deliver the unexpected,” the founders wrote, explaining that the decision to close was not due to financial strain but a desire to end on a high note and explore new opportunities.

Saks Potts rose to prominence with its vibrant designs, earning a loyal following among fashion icons like Lily-Rose Depp, Kylie Jenner, Bella Hadid, and Beyoncé. Their colorful, Y2K-inspired creations became synonymous with contemporary womenswear, cementing their place as a favorite of style trailblazers.

The Fall/Winter 2024 collection, showcased at their Bredgade boutique in January, will be their final offering. Reflecting on their journey, Saks and Potts shared: “We could either shake everything up or turn the page and say a beautiful farewell at the peak of our success.”

While their next chapter remains uncertain, their legacy of optimism, creativity, and vibrant design will leave a lasting impact on the fashion world.
