Celebrating its 140th anniversary, Bulgari set a record with the Octo Finissimo Ultra COSC, the world’s thinnest mechanical watch at only 1.70mm thick. The achievement has earned Bulgari its ninth award in ten years and the first-ever WWD Honor for Watch Brand of the Year. CEO Jean-Christophe Babin lauded the brand’s technical innovation, noting that the Octo Finissimo Ultra COSC pushes the limits of thinness without compromising elegance, wearability, or durability.

The Octo Finissimo Ultra debuted at Geneva’s Watches and Wonders fair, immediately captivating enthusiasts with its record-breaking slim profile and meticulous design. Crafted from sandblasted titanium or platinum with a tungsten carbide back, the Octo’s components are remarkably compact, thanks to Bulgari’s collaboration with engineers at Concepto Watch Factory. Produced in limited quantities, each watch retails between 600,000 and 620,000 euros.

Beyond aesthetics, Bulgari infuses its designs with Italian heritage, drawing inspiration from the Pantheon’s octagonal hall in Rome, symbolizing luck and infinity. The Octo’s sleek silhouette fits the modern gentleman’s style, with the entire line produced in Switzerland’s Watch Valley, where contemporary techniques blend with traditional watchmaking.

Expanding its innovative spirit, Bulgari has also introduced the Octo Roma Grande Sonnerie tourbillon, the brand’s most complex watch, developed in collaboration with Italian-Swiss conductor Lorenzo Viotti. This model features four hammers marking time with a custom composition by Viotti, merging sound with mechanical artistry.
