The BMW Group in the U.S. has pledged $1 million to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to aid communities devastated by the Los Angeles wildfires. As a long-standing partner of the Red Cross, BMW continues its commitment to supporting disaster recovery efforts and providing critical resources to those in need.
“BMW has strong ties to California, especially Los Angeles, where many of our associates and dealers are based,” said Sebastian Mackensen, President and CEO of BMW of North America. “Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the wildfires and the organizations working tirelessly to support them.”
The Red Cross has been actively assisting affected residents, offering emergency shelter, distributing over 62,000 relief items, and providing meals in collaboration with partners. Financial assistance programs are also in place for those within designated fire perimeters.
Individuals interested in supporting relief efforts can visit redcross.org, call 1-800-RED-CROSS, or text “CAWILDFIRES” to 90999 to donate. Blood donations are also critical, as blood drive cancellations have impacted supplies.
“The generosity of partners like BMW helps us deliver vital aid to communities during their most challenging times,” said Cliff Holtz, CEO of the American Red Cross. “Together, we bring hope and relief to those in need.”
